As a Withdrawal Management Nurse at Canadian Centre for Addictions, I was responsible for medical detox monitoring of clients throughout their residential program which included Methadone and Suboxone maintenance for clients withdrawing from opioids.
Earlier in my career, I worked with hundreds of clients in the community, and as a nurse in both the Bowmanville Urgent Care Clinics, and Physician's while utilizing full scope of practice skills.
Prior to nursing I worked in the legal field for many years. I was a Criminal Courtroom Clerk and Client Service Representative for the Ministry of the Attorney General, Criminal Court Services. I owned my own paralegal company for 5 years representing clients in Small Claims Court and Landlord and Tenant Tribunals and also worked as a secretary for the Law Society of Upper Canada investigating complaints against lawyers.
Throughout my career I have always had a passion for helping people heal especially from trauma. I give clients a new perspective on their traumatic event and look for strengths to assist clients in moving forward. My practice is client centered and individually focused.
I have been married to my soulmate and best friend for over 25 years and together we have raised three adult children. One of our children was adopted and she lives with FASD, so I am no stranger for advocating for individuals with special needs.
